3 new application Google Maps
GOOGLE Malaysia introduced three major additions to Google Maps that allows users in the country better plan their journey and obtain current information. Addition involves two new layers, 'Traffic' and 'Transit', and interfaces in Malaysia language.
Google Country Manager Malaysia Sajith Sivanandan said, by opening the layer 'Traffic' in Maps, users can see immediately whether the crowded road or track based on color codes.
Red for traffic congestion, slow-moving yellow and green for smooth flow. "new layer makes it easier for drivers to plan an alternative route to their destination," he said at a media briefing in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. 'Transit' provides information about travel on the Malaysia public transport system on Google Maps. It also offers a better choice for Malaysians who want to avoid traffic jams and go to the city by using public transport. Sajith said, the data for 'Traffic' and 'Transit' is obtained from various sources, including, government transportation departments and private data providers.
